What is the SMS Gateway API?
API stands for Application Programming Interface. The TextAnywhere Gateway API enables our clients to integrate the automated sending of SMS messages from within their own developed applications and web sites.
Integrating SMS messaging in to your own in-house application or web site enables SMS text messages to be automatically sent by your application when a certain condition or threshold occurs within your application.
For example, the Currys Digital and PC World repair management systems will automatically send you a text message as your item in for repair progresses through their repair process. At each stage of the repair management system your item is scanned, and an SMS message is automatically sent to you by the repair management system to keep you up to date with how your item is progressing.
Integrating SMS messaging in to your application ensures that a text message is sent, rather than relying on an individual to login and manually send a message each time a message needs to be sent.
Our SMS gateway supports three different types of API:
- HTTPS Service – enables your application to send a secure message to us through a simple, one line web URL-type command.
- Web Service – a more technically rich API.
- SMTP Service – send and receive SMS messages from within your application by email.
